Short description:The project “Johanngeorgenstadt ‘54” aims to develop ideas for the future of the city in the Ore Mountains together with citizens of Johanngeorgenstadt, the administration and other project partners. As part of a seminar, the participating architecture students designed a variety of projects and visions, which were presented to the residents and project participants on site. This not only gave the students the opportunity to explore rural areas thematically, but also to work on a real project together with their supervisors. The resulting ideas have been incorporated into a land use plan that is currently being developed for the region studied. In her presentation, Professor Melanie Humann will give a vivid insight into the project, its development and the results obtained, thus sketching a picture of Johanngeorgenstadt’s future.
