Saga Hisamitsu Springs win Japan women’s title; ninth national title

Gacko RD Swisslion emerged as the women’s volleyball champions of Bosnia & Herzegovina for the fourth (consecutive) time in the club’s history. They won all three matches of the best-of-five final series against Kula Gradacac, but none of them in straight sets. They closed the championship playoff on Saturday with a3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-23)away victory.
ASV Elite Aarhus won their sixth national women’s title in Denmark. On Saturday, they put an end to the best-of-five final playoff against Holte IF by winning the fourth match of the series,3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-17)at home. Brondby completed the podium after winning the bronze medal playoff. Elite’s 22-year-old setter Caroline Krogh was voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the season.
The best-of-seven final playoff in Finland’s women’s league between Polkky Kuusamo and Puijo Wolley Kuopio lasted five games. They closed the best-of-five final playoff against Throttur Reykjavik after the fourth match on Sunday, which they won by a narrow3-2 (17-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 15-10). KA’s 23-year-old Polish outside hitter Jakub Pospiech was named MVP of the finals.
Jakarta Pertamina Enduro took the best-of-three gold medal playoff in Indonesia’s women’s league against Gresik Phonska Plus Indonesian Fertilizer, played in Yogyakarta, after two matches. LavAni’s 22-year-old outside hitter Boy Arnez Arabi received the MVP award.

Hisamitsu Springs’ 26-year-old libero Minami Nishimura was declared MVP of the championship.

The five-team triple-round-robin women’s league of Malta came to an end on Sunday. Swieqi Phoenix Nium grabbed their fourth title after topping the final standings on an 11-1 win-loss record and 31 points. Flyers Balzan finished runners-up on 7-5 and 22, and celebrated silver. TENT Obrenovac snatched their second women’s crown in Serbia on Sunday. TENT’s 23-year-old libero Bojana Gocanin earned the MVP award.
Esperance Sportive Tunis collected their ninth consecutive and 26th overall national men’s volleyball title in Tunisia. They won all three matches of the best-of-five championship playoff against Etoile Sportive du Sahel Sousse to claim the crown. They closed the series on Saturday with a3-2 (16-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-12, 15-5)reverse sweep on the road. The third-place playoff between Mouloudia Bou Salem and Sfaxien Sfax is still underway.
