Fabmatics introduces ultra-compact LF RFID reader LF134SERMINI in semiconductor fabs; five times smaller than conventional LF readers Enabling Scalable Automation in Space-Constrained Semiconductor Fabs: Fabmatics Adds Ultra‑compact LF RFID Reader to portfolio - Silicon Saxony Fabmatics introduces the Box Opening Transfer Unit for box-based 200 mm semiconductor fabs Barkhausen Institute: New research chip from Dresden for secure digital systems Infineon: Contributing industrialization expertise to European quantum pilot lines Enabling Scalable Automation in Space-Constrained Semiconductor Fabs: Fabmatics Adds Ultra‑compact LF RFID Reader to portfolio Fabmatics, a specialist in identification and automation solutions for semiconductor manufacturing and part of the SCIO Automation Group, has expanded its RFID portfolio with its smallest LF RFID reader to date: the ultra-compact LF 134 SER MINI. The new reader enables reliable RFID based identification at 134.2 kHz and was specifically designed for applications with extremely limited installation space in automated semiconductor fabs. Reliable identification in increasingly compact fab environments The new reader addresses a key challenge in both modern and legacy semiconductor fabs: reliable identification in automated production environments with severely restricted installation space. Ultra compact LF reader for new and existing automation concepts The LF134SERMINI was developed precisely for these conditions. Thanks to its extremely compact design, it enables LF RFID identification at 134.2 kHz even in space critical installation scenarios.A robust aluminium housing ensures mechanical stability in demanding fab environments, making the reader suitable for both existing equipment and newly designed, space optimized automation solutions. Seamless integration into existing LF identification infrastructures A key advantage of the new reader is its software compatibility with existing LF134SER models. This allows the LF134SERMINI to be seamlessly integrated into established identification and automation systems. As a result, semiconductor fabs and equipment manufacturers can incrementally upgrade existing systems, without fundamentally changing proven processes or interfaces. Technical highlights for industrial LF identification The reader operates in the LF frequency range at 134.2 kHz and supports ISO 11784 785 compliant HDX and FSK transponders as well as TIRIS compatible read With dimensions of 71 × 60.4 × 20.8 mm (2.795 × 2.378 × 0.819 in), the device is approximately five times smaller than conventional serial LF readers while offering the same functional scope. Its RS232 serial interface enables direct connection to production equipment and automation systems. Expanding the Fabmatics portfolio for 150, 200 and 300mm fabs With the LF 134 SER MINI, Fabmatics expands the SCIO Automation Group portfolio with a compact, system compatible identification device for 150 mm, 200 mm, and 300 mm semiconductor fabs. The focus is not on replacing existing systems, but on selectively extending established automation and identification concepts.
