Borussia Dortmund will tour Japan as part of their pre-season preparations for the 2026

27 campaign, the club have confirmed.

The tour, sponsored by Evonik, will take place between 26 July and 2 August 2026, and is the fourth timeDortmundhave made the trip to Japan following tours to Toyko (2015, 2017) and Osaka (2024).

Two friendly games have been planned, with Dortmund first set to face partner club Cerezo Osaka - where former BVB hero Shinji Kagawa currently plays - on 29 July, before travelling to play FC Tokyo in the capital on 1 August.

Speaking upon the announcement, Carsten Cramer, spokesperson for the Borussia Dortmund management board, said: "After our fantastic experiences in Tokyo and Osaka, we feel a strong connection to the Japanese fans, partners and culture of the country, and we are eagerly looking forward to travelling to this fascinating country again.

"Reuniting with Shinji Kagawa and returning to the metropolis of Tokyo are highlights for all of us. We thank our partners and the Japanese fans for their loyalty and look forward to connecting with old and new friends, and to unforgettable experiences.”

Dortmund, who have already qualified for next term's UEFA Champions League with three games to spare, will kick off their pre-season with a friendly against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen on 18 July, the day before the FIFA World Cup final.
