The draw for the knockout rounds ofbadminton’sThomas Cup, the men’s world team championships, took place on Thursday (30 April) in Horsens, Denmark.
Reigning champions, thePeople’s Republic of China, who finished top of Group A, will face Group B’s runners-upMalaysia, in the quarter-finals, as they bid for their 12th title.
Group D winners,Thailand, will take on Group C’s second-placedDenmark. Whoever makes it through this fixture will face the winners of the aforementioned tie in the semi-finals.
France, the Group D runners-up, will face Group B table toppersJapan, while the last-eight line-up rounds off with Group A runners-upIndiaplayingChinese Taipei, who topped Group C.
The quarter-finals of the men’s Thomas Cup will be held on Friday, followed by the semi-finals on Saturday and the grand finale on 3 May (Sunday).
