Position SummaryThe Stamping Press Operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and starting stamping presses to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role requires strong knowledge of stamping processes, die setups, press parameters, and quality verification prior to and during production runs.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform stamping press setups and die changeovers, including die installation, alignment, and adjustmentSet and verify press parameters such as tonnage, stroke, speed, feed, and lubricationConduct trial runs and validate part quality before releasing presses to productionTroubleshoot stamping press or die-related issues during setup and startupMonitor initial production runs to ensure quality and process stabilityRead and interpret setup sheets, blueprints, and work instructionsCoordinate with Tool & Die, Maintenance, and Quality teams to resolve setup or quality issuesUse the Company’s quality control procedures of non-conforming products to prevent defective product from reaching our customersEnvironmental responsibilities including applying the 5S principles (sort, straighten, shine, sustain and standardize)Follow all safety procedures including lockout

Perform stamping press setups and die changeovers, including die installation, alignment, and adjustment

Set and verify press parameters such as tonnage, stroke, speed, feed, and lubrication

Conduct trial runs and validate part quality before releasing presses to production

Troubleshoot stamping press or die-related issues during setup and startup

Monitor initial production runs to ensure quality and process stability

Read and interpret setup sheets, blueprints, and work instructions

Coordinate with Tool & Die, Maintenance, and Quality teams to resolve setup or quality issues

Use the Company’s quality control procedures of non-conforming products to prevent defective product from reaching our customers

Environmental responsibilities including applying the 5S principles (sort, straighten, shine, sustain and standardize)

Follow all safety procedures including lockout

High school diploma or GED

3+ years of experience as a stamping press operator with setup responsibilities

Strong understanding of stamping dies, material flow, and press operations

Ability to read blueprints and setup documentation

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Experience with high-tonnage mechanical, hydraulic, or servo stamping presses

Automotive or high-volume metal manufacturing experience

Basic knowledge of press controls, sensors, and safety systems

Forklift or overhead crane certification

Ability to stand, walk, climb, and kneel for extended periods

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Ability to work safely around stamping press equipment
