Expanding Ultrasound Expertise for ENT and Oral Surgery

TheAdvanced Ultrasound Course for ENT Physicians and Oral Surgeonswill take place onJune 26 and 27, 2026at Magdeburg University Hospital. This continuing education program is designed for specialists in otolaryngology and oral surgery who wish to deepen their knowledge of sonographic diagnostics. The course is conducted in accordance with the guidelines of theGerman Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (DEGUM)and theNational Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV)and concludes with a certificate. A total of20 continuing education creditswill be awarded.

Under the scientific direction ofProf. Dr. med. Martin Durisinand the course leadership ofOA Dr. med. Jens Schumacher, participants can expect a practice-oriented program consisting of lectures and hands-on exercises in small groups. Topics covered include sonanatomy, sonopathologies of the soft tissues of the neck, examination of the salivary glands, and the use of sonography in clinical and private practice settings. Additional content includes sonography in children, ultrasound examination of the paranasal sinuses and midface, and a comparison of sonographic and radiological methods for tumors in the head and neck region.

In addition to the theoretical fundamentals, thefocus is primarily on practical application. In several hands-on sessions, participants have the opportunity to intensively practice examination techniques and deepen their diagnostic skills.
