 (MSF) is recruiting a
 ENERGY & HVAC
 Advisor
Field -based : Kampala (Uganda) with 50% of field visits
Duration: FTC until 30.06.202 7 (renewable) HR benefits and type of
contract based on country of residence

Starting date : 1st of July 2026
Main Purpose
The aim of this position is to keep up standards on Electrical Safety, Equipment Protection and Service
Continuity, as well as on Energy Transition to reduce our environmental footprint (Planetary Health) at
regional MSF Mission’s level.
As the primary focal point you will apply your expertise into field projects and provid strategical technical
support to coordination and field teams in the countries in the region according to MSF policies, guidelines
and procedures in order to support the broader operational objectives of the mission
You will conduct trainings on related MSF protocols and develop a pool of Electricians experts in the
region. You will also advise on the career development of the Electricians experts.

Your main responsibilities

-Provide technical support to field operations on energy and HVAC systems through remote guidance and
field visits, ensuring reliable and context-adapted solutions.
-Advise programs on system design, sizing, and implementation strategies based on needs and risk
analysis, while supporting long-term planning and budgeting.
-Validate technical choices, including equipment, suppliers, and system configurations, ensuring
compliance with standards and operational constraints.
-Contribute to the development of sustainable, efficient energy and HVAC solutions, promoting reduced
environmental impact and resource optimization.
-Support project design and governance by proposing feasible and resilient technical approaches adapted
to humanitarian contexts.
-Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (logistics, medical, procurement) to ensure integrated project
implementation.
-Contribute to technical guidelines, innovation initiatives, and continuous improvement within the
domain.
-Build staff capacity through training, technical support, and contribution to recruitment and
development of specialists.

Requirements
Essential
•
Fluent in French & English
•
Master or Bachelor degree and Specialization on area of Energy
•
2 years minimum experience in energy project at international NGO field projects
•
Dynamic, organized, rigorous, with strong analytical and synthesis skills while respecting existing
structures and their evolution.
•
Ability to collaborate, strong interpersonal skills, sense of dialogue, and good listening skills.
•
Ability to communicate at different levels and maintain a global vision of the project.

Considered as assets
•
Field MSF experience (as Energy Manager / Flying Energy / Referent Energy)
•
Electrical Design software (ProfiCad, Autocad, Qelectrotech…) knowledge
•
Good understanding of sustainable building design (alt. low energy building design, energy
efficient building design, or passive construction energy systems) and insulation techniques /
solarization
•
Experience in electric backup (generator, UPS, …)
•
Experience in renewable energies energy efficiency & sustainable energy design
•
Experience in HVAC
