Porto - Quinta da Boeira is celebrating Portugal Day on 10 June in Bern together with the Embassy of Portugal in Bern and AICEP. At the event, the wine producer will showcase port wines from the Douro region. The highlight will be a tasting of a 230-year-old port wine.

(CONNECT) TheQuinta da Boreiawinery from Porto is participating in the celebrations for Portugal’s national holiday, Camões, in Bern, in partnership with theEmbassy of Portugalin Bern and the Portuguese Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade (AICEP). The event will take place on 10 June atHotel Bellevue Palace, bringing together representatives of institutions, official guests, and wine lovers for an evening that “celebrates Portugal’s maritime heritage as well as the Douro Valley and port wine”, reads a statement.

The event will be opened at 5.30 p.m. by Júlio Vilela, Portuguese Ambassador to Switzerland. This will be followed by a presentation by Quinta da Boeira on Portugal’s discoveries throughout its maritime history, as well as a talk led by winemaker Helena Teixeira on the Douro region and port wine. The highlight of the evening will be a tasting of a 230-year-old port wine.

The program also includes an inauguration ceremony for theFederação das Confrarias Báquicas de Portugal, an association dedicated to promoting, protecting, and developing Portuguese wines as well as the culture associated with them. The event will conclude with closing remarks by the Portuguese ambassador, followed by cocktails and dinner.

Quinta da Boeira is reportedly positioning itself in Switzerland as an ambassador for a centuries-old tradition. “With its presence in Bern, Quinta da Boeira reaffirms its commitment to promoting Port wine and the Douro Valley internationally and pays tribute to Portugal through its history, culture, and outstanding winemaking,” reads the statement. ce
