FORVIA HELLA China mobilizes employees for FORVIA Solidarity Day, turning purpose into action across local communities
• The programs focused on elder care, children’s wellbeing, food waste reduction, and environmental clean-ups • Around 530 employees across seven sites participated in seven local actions International automotive supplier FORVIA HELLA carried out a series of volunteer initiatives in China as part of the inaugural FORVIA Solidarity Day 2026. Inspired by the sustainability initiative ‘The Blue Effect’, the annual celebration of the FORVIA Group evolves this year to channel the energy of its colleagues into tangible social impact. Teams across China activated site-wide programs focused on elder care, children’s well-being, food-waste reduction, and environmental cleanups, delivering measurable benefits for local communities while strengthening a culture of philanthropy across FORVIA HELLA. “The FORVIA Solidarity Day brings our purpose to life by connecting technology leadership with responsibility, empowering employees as changemakers, and scaling impact through broad participation,” says Cola Wang, Director of Corporate HR China at FORVIA HELLA. “Through the initiatives in China, we build trust and measurable results that reflect our commitment to being a dependable partner for society. And by drawing on our global roots while acting locally, we scale what works across sites, demonstrating how collective participation turns individual initiatives into a broader movement of changemakers for meaningful social impact.” At the FORVIA HELLA Asia Headquarters in Shanghai, employees partnered with the elderly in Maqiao Town to design and create eco-friendly canvas bags, fostering intergenerational connection and encouraging sustainable daily habits among a dedicated volunteer cohort of 25. At FORVIA HELLA’s electronics plant in Shanghai, approximately 75 colleagues joined the “Clean Plate” initiative, encouraging mindful dining to reduce food waste and lower carbon footprints—

At the Jiaxing lighting plant, the team organized a green-ecosystem hike at North–South Lake coupled with a litter cleanup, engaging around 110 colleagues to protect public spaces and biodiversity while promoting low-impact outdoor activity. FORVIA HELLA’s Nanjing Technical Center has launched a public-welfare initiative supporting orphans and children with disabilities. The program invites employees and their families to co- create artwork, host charity art exhibitions, and organize “sweet giving” candy sales. All proceeds will be directed to purchasing urgently needed daily necessities, such as diapers, based on the welfare institution’s actual requirements. In addition, on-site visits will be arranged to deliver essential supplies, share time with the children, and convey care and best wishes. At the Changchun lighting plant, the team combined a hike around Jingyue Lake with an organized litter collection to improve the local environment, engaging 40 colleagues to enhance air and recreational quality through visible, collective action. Also in Changchun, 50 volunteers at the lighting tooling plant partnered with a local organization to support the mental health and well-being of left-behind children, inviting broad employee participation to provide companionship and development-oriented activities. FORVIA HELLA’s Xiamen Electronics Plant mobilized 22 colleagues as “environmental guardians” to carry out a community cleanup in the New Huan Donghai Area. Team members supported local sanitation workers by removing scattered litter and tackling sanitation blind spots, helping to safeguard neighborhood cleanliness through practical, small actions and promoting a new norm of civility in the community.
