Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie wins Poland’s men’s volleyball championship; First-time Polish champions.

National volleyball champions continue to emerge on all five continents – FIVB

For the third consecutive season and fourth time in history, WA Tlemcen won the men’s volleyball championship title in Algeria. In Saturday’s single-match final against Naceria Bejaia in Bejaia, they put together a3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-23)sweep. Jil Saad Ouled Adouane claimed the bronze.

Greenyard Maaseik returned to the men’s volleyball throne in Belgium for the first time in seven years. They closed the best-of-five championship series against Knack Roeselare at 3-1 in wins to collect their 17th national title. In the fourth match of the series on Tuesday, Greenyard achieved a3-1 (25-17, 20-25, 25-14, 25-18)victory to the delight of the 2,700 home fans in the stands in Maaseik.

Sada Cruzeiro Volei Belo Horizonte conquered their 10th national men’s volleyball title in Brazil. In Sunday’s single-match showdown in front of well over 10 thousand fans in Sao Paulo(pictured in the main photo; source: cbv.com.br), the defending champions mastered a3-0 (25-14, 27-25, 25-21)shutout of Volei Renata Campinas. Sada Cruzeiro’s 40-year-old middle blocker Lucas Saatkamp was honored as Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the league.

Montpellier Herault Volley triumphed as French men’s champions for the ninth time in the club’s history. They won both matches of the best-of-three final playoff for the title against Alterna Stade Poitevin Poitiers in straight sets. They closed the series at home on Friday with a3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-20)sweep of the second game. Earlier in the season, Montpellier’s 31-year-old Argentinean outside hitter Tomas Lopez Pascual was named MVP of the league.

Defending champions Panathinaikos Athens brought home their 23rd national title in the history of men’s volleyball in Greece. It took them four matches to win the best-of-five championship playoff against PAOK Thessaloniki, closing it off on Saturday with a3-1 (25-22, 32-34, 26-24, 25-20)road win in a hard-fought battle witnessed by about 3,700 fans in the stands. Nea Smyrni Milon finished the league in third place.

For the 21st time in the club’s history, Fino Kaposvar triumphed as men’s national champions of Hungary. In the fourth match of the best-of-five championship series against MAV Elore Foxconn Szekesfehervar on Tuesday, they conquered the crown with a3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-20)shutout. Vegyesz Kazincbarcika swept the bronze medal series. Fino’s 32-year-old Brazilian libero Bruno Feliciano received the MVP honors.

Orion Stars Doetinchem emerged as men’s champions of the Netherlands for the third time in a row. They claimed the fifth national title in the club’s history on Sunday, when they closed the best-of-five final series against Lycurgus Groningen at 3-0 in wins. Orion Stars produced a convincing3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-15)home victory.

Rabotnicki Skopje collected their 18th national women’s volleyball crown in North Macedonia. The home teams kept winning their matches in the best-of-five championship playoff to push it to a deciding fifth game on Monday. Rabotnicki broke the trend and produced a3-1 (16-25, 25-20, 27-25, 25-23)road victory over Nakovski volej Strumica to win the series at 3-2 and triumph as champions.

A long-lasting dream finally came true for Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie. On Sunday afternoon, they triumphed as Polish men’s volleyball champions for the first time in history. In a deciding fifth match of the best-of-five final playoff against defending champions BOGDANKA LUK Lublin, Aluron delighted a home crowd of about 3,300 fans with a3-1 (15-25, 25-21, 25-14, 25-21)victory to close the series at 3-2 in wins. PGE Projekt Warsaw added another bronze to their PlusLiga collection.

FC Porto celebrated the national women’s title in Portugal for the second time, as they finished their job in the best-of-five championship series against Braga in the fourth game on Sunday. They put together a3-0 (25-20, 27-25, 25-22)road victory to claim the crown. The bronze went to SL Benfica Lisbon.

The Qatari women’s volleyball league season came to an end on Sunday. Al Arabi Doha topped the final standings and triumphed as champions. Al-Rayyan settled for silver, while Qatar Doha completed the podium with bronze.

APR Kigali were crowned national women’s champions of Rwanda on Saturday for the third time in five years. In the third match of the best-of-five championship series against Kepler Kigali, they closed the season with a3-2 (22-25, 25-17, 25-20, 16-25, 15-10)victory in the Rwandan capital. Police Kigali won the bronze medals.

Rieker UJS Komarno claimed the national title in Slovakian men’s volleyball for the fourth time in the club’s history. On Thursday, they closed the best-of-five final series against Slovan Bratislava at 3-1 in wins. In the fourth match, they delighted the home crowd with a3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-16)sweep to triumph as champions. Slavia SPU Nitra won the bronze medal playoff.

A sellout crowd of 4,598 fans in the stands cheered on as USA’s women’s Major League Volleyball rookies Dallas Pulse battled it out for a3-2 (20-25, 25-23, 15-25, 25-13, 15-9)home victory over Omaha Supernovas in the single-match final to triumph as first-time champions on Saturday. Indy Ignite Fishers’ 24-year-old setter Amelia Tuaniga earned the season’s MVP honors.
