World No. 1 Jannik Sinner will be chasing a maiden French Open title after finishing runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz last year.

Jannik Sinner, a four-timeGrand Slamchampion, is yet to conquer Roland Garros - the only major missing from his collection as he bids to complete a career Grand Slam.

Sinner lost last year’s French Open final to Spanish aceCarlos Alcaraz, who will not be able to defend his title, having withdrawn from thetennistournament due to a wrist injury.

Record 24-time Grand Slam championNovak Djokovicwill be aiming to win his fourth French Open crown.

The Serbian legend finished as runners-up to Alcaraz in the Australian Open final earlier this year and also beat Sinner in the semis en route to the final Down Under.

Germany’s Alexander Zverev, runners-up from the 2024 French Open and the current world No.3, will also be eyeing his maiden Grand Slam triumph.

In the women’s draw, Coco Gauff will head into the French Open as the defending champion.

Meanwhile, world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka will be aiming to win her first-ever French Open title, having come up second best to Coco Gauff in the final last year.

Indian tennis players at French Open 2026

Yuki Bhambri, the top-rankedIndian tennis playercurrently, will be part of the men’s doubles main draw at theFrench Open 2026and so will be his compatriotN Sriram Balaji.

The two Indians, however, will pair up with different partners.

Bhambri will play with New Zealand’s Michael Venus while Sriram Balaji will team up with Brazilian Marcelo Demoliner for the upcoming edition of the Roland Garros.

There will be no Indian representation in the singles main draw after Karman Thandi failed to make it past the qualifiers.

In the junior categories, Maaya Rajaeswaran Revathi and Arnav Paparkar will be seen competing in the girls’ and boys’ singles events, respectively.
