Sky Brown stormed into the finals in the first event of her campaign for the Olympic Games LA28 .

Team GB’s double Olympic medallist qualified in the top spot in the semi-finals of the WST World Cup in Ostia, Italy, the official starting point for Olympic qualification.

A composed Brown, 17, was solid in her first run to assert a lead, before her second run included a wonderfully controlled kickflip indy to bump her up to a huge 90.55 score.

“I want to put on a good show and land my runs - so I feel amazing,” Brown told Olympics.com .

“The feeling doesn’t get old of competing and skating: The nerves... and people screaming for me. I love it so much.

“It would be amazing to be able to win. There are so many good skaters now, so it’s definitely not going to be an easy battle.”
