Akris and Sprüngli hold joint celebration
( CONNECT ) The Zurich-based confectionary specialist Confiserie Sprüngli is celebrating its 190th birthday in 2026. At a special celebratory event held at Café & Restaurant Sprüngli on Paradeplatz in the center of Zurich, the company hosted an evening during which it unveiled the latest Fall
Winter 2026 collection from the St. Gallen-based fashion house Akris . According to a statement, the Twilly Escrito Cadente, which was designed exclusively for Sprüngli, was also presented at the event. This exclusive scarf will be worn by sales staff as part of their uniform throughout the milestone year.
According to the statement, the fashion show was a particular highlight of the anniversary celebrations. Inspired by the textile artworks of the Colombian artist Olga de Amaral, the collection showcased a rich variety of textiles. The finest fabrics, precise cuts and a sense of timeless elegance were all on display, reflected in the use of a wide range of materials, including brocade, three-dimensional organza tiles and ornate fringes.
“Both companies are shaped to this day by families that have handed down traditions over generations and at the same time possess the courage to constantly reinvent themselves”, as Tomas Prenosil, CEO of Confiserie Sprüngli, comments in the statement. “It is precisely this mix of heritage and future, of tradition and innovation, that makes the partnership between Akris and Sprüngli so special”, he adds. Peter Kriemler, President of Akris, emphasizes his company’s close ties to Sprüngli: “It is a great pleasure for us to mark this anniversary with a specially designed Twilly and to present our collection at this special location in Zurich.” ce
