The Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) has granted Equinor consent to use Transocean Norge for production drilling and completion at the Irpa field.

Additional information: The consent covers production drilling and completion of the wells 6705

10-A-3 H. The activity is part of the Irpa field development.

Irpa lies in the Norwegian Sea, 80 kilometres west of the Aasta Hansteen field. The water depth is 1330 metres. Irpa was discovered in 2009, and the plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in 2023. The development concept includes a subsea template with four slots tied-back to the existing Aasta Hansteen facility.

The field is under development. The production is planned to start in 2026.
