What happens when a highly trained body encounters the freedom and raw energy of clubbing?

weaves together the forms of the traditional Korean dance Shinmuyong, rooted in rigorous discipline and repetition, with the pulsating visual and sonic textures of 1990s rave culture. The dancers move to a collective beat, blending technique and improvisation to create a space of intense, visceral joy.

unfolds like a luminous constellation of bodies, transforming their own stories into a new form of movement. The choreographic language of South Korean artist Lee Yanghee, presented in Italy for the first time, transforms the scene into a vibrant space of cultural memory and shared physicality, where tradition and modernity converge in a ritual-like, ecstatic experience.

is an artist who explores the language of performing arts by creating ephemeral theaters and presenting works in both performance and exhibition formats. Trained extensively in Korean traditional dance (

) since childhood and an active participant in Korea’s underground club culture of the late 1990s, Lee navigates the hybrid territory between tradition and contemporary art through the history of her own body. Her work delves into the boundaries between intangible traditional forms and contemporary archetypes, focusing on the physical pleasures, discipline, and form that constitute dance itself. Her artistic excellence and international potential were recently recognized through her selection for PAMS Choice 2025 (Performing Arts Market in Seoul) for her work,

. Lee was a Fresh Tracks Artist at New York Live Arts (2011) and an Artist-in-Residence at Movement Research (2014–2016), and she received a fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council (2016). Notable performance works include Shimmering, IN, Dusk, and DUSK. Her interdisciplinary practice has been presented in major institutions such as the Nam June Paik Art Center, Busan Biennale, Art Sonje Center, and Ilmin Museum of Art. Lee also leads the Limbo Project Performing Art Lab, where she examines the ownership and enjoyment of performing arts through horizontal discourse and workshops.
