At voestalpine Krems Finaltechnik, Patricia W. ensures that environmental, sustainability, and waste management processes run just as smoothly as our integrated management systems—a critical area that ensures we can maintain and further expand our certifications. Why? To guarantee consistent quality for our customers worldwide.

Patricia W. is our expert in environmental and sustainability management. She focuses on further developing our environmental management system and oversees certifications such as ISO 14001. In doing so, she helps ensure that our processes are systematically aligned with international environmental standards and continuously improved. This includes, for example, waste separation, the collection of environmental metrics, and employee training. These certifications confirm to our customers that we manufacture our products for road safety and high-bay warehouse systems in accordance with the highest international standards.

As the point of contact for environmental issues, I help make our processes more sustainable and reduce our CO₂ emissions step by step.

Patricia is currently working part-time with us while she pursues her education: She is in her sixth semester of the “Sustainable Resource Management” program and is able to perfectly combine theory and practice here. For her, continuing education in this field makes perfect sense, because doing things halfway isn’t “her thing”—rather, it’s about personal responsibility and professional growth.

We assess the issues on-site and implement measures. When I realize that I can help make a positive difference, those are my #FavoriteMoments.

Conducting a TÜV audit without a team leader? It’s possible, and Patricia has proven it. The environmental manager learned “a lot very quickly” in the process and put theory into practice. At the end of the day, she successfully completed the audit. “That makes me proud.”

Mathias M., who left the restaurant industry, has reaped the rewards of his interest in technology. Today, as a machine operator at our Finaltechnik location in Krems, he ensures that the steel profiles for high-bay racking and road safety products are perfectly prepared for assembly in the drilling and sawing center.
