Workshop: "Winter Pruning of Fruit Trellises"

Along the historic monastery wall of the CULINARIUM ALPINUM, over thirty pear trees are growing, which are being trained into artistic espaliers in collaboration with ProSpecieRara and the FRUCTUS association.

Experience this special form of fruit cultivation up close and take part in the winter maintenance work right on site. In the workshop, you’ll learn the basics of winter pruning and receive valuable tips on the correct pruning and training techniques.

Afterwards, you’ll pick up the secateurs yourself and shape the espaliers under expert guidance. This will give you the knowledge and confidence to successfully grow and care for your own espalier tree.

We also offer the complementary workshop "Summer pruning of fruit espaliers".
