Australia are having another Commonwealth Games to remember.

Wednesday (29 July) marks the last day of their medal-hauling time in the swimming pool, while the track and field stars will look to add to the nation’s medal tally in an action-packed day at the Scotstoun Stadium.

Commonwealth Games 2026 - Australia’s stars to watch on Wednesday 29 July

A strong Aussie field in the athletics competition sees Paris 2024 Olympian Mia Gross and Monique Hanlon take on the women’s 200m heats.

Reigning men’s 1500m Commonwealth champion Oliver Hoare , fellow Olympian Adam Spencer , and world under-20 silver medallist Cameron Myers will go for gold in the men’s one mile event, up against Scotland’s world record holder , Josh Kerr .

Lachlan Kennedy , the national 60m record holder, takes on the test of the 200m in Glasgow, while Nathan Jason and Sarah Carli are in action in the men’s 100m T12 and the women’s 400m hurdles, respectively.

Australia have a final shot at swimming heroics in Scotland on the final day of competition in the pool. Four-time Commonwealth gold medallist Sam Short will aim to make it a golden Glaswegian sweep when he competes in the men’s 1500m freestyle final against compatriots Matthew Galea and Benjamin Goedemans .

Short is also in men’s 200m freestyle action with Harrison Turner and Kai Taylor , while Sienna Toohey , Tara Kinder and Ella Ramsay are all competing in the women’s 200m breaststroke.

The women’s 200m butterfly medal hopes rely on the trio of Lizzy Dekkers , Brittany Castelluzo and Jessica Cole , with the men’s and women’s 4x100m medley relays also concluding the swimming programme on Wednesday.

Cross-fit athlete Isabella Andueza hopes to make her mark in the weightlifting women’s 77kg final at 09:30 local time (18:30 AEST). The afternoon session features Oliver Saxton – son of Olympic weightlifter Andrew Saxton – in the men’s 94kg final, and Eileen Floanna Maria Cikamatana in the women’s 86kg.
