Adaejah Hodge from the British Virgin Islands has already set a Games record in this event in Glasgow, and is favourite for Commonwealth gold on Friday (31 July).

Friday’s (31 July) evening finale at the Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026 showcases the women’s 200m athletics final.

Veronica Shanti Pereira has made history by being on Friday’s starting line, becoming the first Singaporean sprinter to qualify for an individual final at the quadrennial event. She improved her season’s best to 22.81 in the semi-finals.

She will be up against an in-form favourite in Adaejah Hodge , who broke the Games record to qualify for the final, clocking 22.01.

Jamaica’s Ashanti Moore secured the second fastest time in the semi-final with 22.49, while national champion Alana Reid has comfortably qualified past the rounds.

Their teammate Lavanya Williams , Australia’s Torrie Lewis , England’s Success Eduan , and Trinidad and Tobago’s Shaniqua Bascombe complete the field.

Friday’s (31 July) final is set for 21:46 local time.
