Lustenau - Grabher Group GmbH now holds the Digital Product Passport Compass Cradle to Cradle report. Awarded by epeaswitzterland, based in Widnau in the Swiss canton of St.Gallen, the report covers all technical nonwovens produced at the Austrian textile products and textile finishing specialist’s Lustenau facility.

( CONNECT ) Acting as an independent third party, epeaswitzerland GmbH has awarded the Product Passport Compass Cradle to Cradle to the Lustenau-based Grabher Group . The Widnau-based organization developed the report based on the Digital Product Passport (DPP), which is currently being rolled out by the EU. The report assesses aspects such as a product’s performance and energy consumption, as well as its recyclability in accordance with the Cradle to Cradle principle.

Grabher has been awarded the Digital Product Passport Compass Cradle to Cradle report for all technical nonwovens manufactured at its Lustenau facility. The company specializes in textile finishing and, together with the other companies in the group, operates several facilities in Austria and Tunisia. Products manufactured in Lustenau include meltblown nonwovens made from very thin microfibers. These materials are used in applications including masks or filters.

Grabher operates Austria’s only production facility for meltblown nonwovens. It uses 100 per cent hydropower in the production process and claims to be the world’s first manufacturer capable of producing these products with a negative carbon footprint. Grabher had previously received the C2C Certified Material Health Gold certificate for the nonwovens, which are used in air and liquid filtration. ce
