Animesh Kujur finished fourth in the men's 100m while Mohammed Afsal Pulikkalakath clocked a season’s best in the 800m.

Jyothi Yarraji took another confident stride in her comeback trail as the 26-year-old clocked 12.85 seconds to win the women's 100m hurdles at the IFAM Oordegem 2026 athletics meet in Belgium, on Saturday.

The participation at the Oordegem athletics meet - a World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze Level co - marked Jyothi Yarraji’s second competitive outing since recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury which had sidelined her for almost a year.

Saturday's run at the Putbosstadion built on Jyothi Yarraji’s return in June, when she claimed 100m hurdles gold in 12.99s at the National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships after a post-surgery lay-off stretching almost a year.

That effort in Bhubaneshwar also saw the two-time Asian champion breach the Asian Games qualifying standard.

Jyothi Yarraji, India’s national record holder in the 100m hurdles with a personal best of 12.78 seconds, was competing abroad for the first time since returning from her injury.

The race, Jyothi’s best time in two years, will be a huge boost for the Indian hurdler who is steadily finding her rhythm again with the 2026 Asian Games in view. A silver medal winner from Hangzhou 2023 , the Indian athlete will be gunning for an upgrade at Aichi-Nagoya 2026.

The Belgium meet also served as the first stop in Avinash Sable ’s comeback trail.

The national steeplechase record holder is shaking off an ACL setback of his own, which has also kept him sidelined since July 2025.

Avinash Sable turned out for the 5000m race and stopped the clock at 13:45.52 to finish in 64th position.

Elsewhere at the meet, Animesh Kujur finished fourth in the men's 100m, clocking 10.30 seconds, while Mohammed Afsal Pulikkalakath clocked a season’s best 1:46.59 to finish 17th in the men’s 800m, where he holds the national record.
