The 2021 champion pulled out on Monday (3 August), unable to shake the injury that had previously kept her out of Wimbledon.

Emma Raducanu will miss the U.S. Open 2026 , the site of her fairytale breakthrough, after a stress fracture in her right leg brought her injury-hit tennis season to another halt.

The British champion, currently ranked world No. 49, announced the decision on Monday (3 August) following consultation with her medical team, The Times reported .

It is the second Grand Slam in a row she has been forced to skip. The stress fracture, sustained during the grass-court season, also kept her out of Wimbledon earlier this year.

Her last competitive match came in the Queen's Club final in June, one of her best results in the five years since her maiden Slam title.

On Sunday (2 August), the 22-year-old posted from a training block in Switzerland, calling it "the best reset ever" in a video that showed her serving in a boot on her right foot .
