The Commonwealth Games will return to India in 2030 , with Gujarat’s largest city Ahmedabad hosting the centenary edition of the multi-sport event. It will be the second time that India will stage the Games after New Delhi 2010 .
While several details, including the final sports programme, competition schedule and venues, are yet to be confirmed, Commonwealth Sport has outlined the framework for the Games.
Around 15 to 17 sports are expected to feature, with further announcements due over the next year.

Hosts can also propose up to two additional sports.
During the Commonwealth Games 2026 closing ceremony, Gujarat deputy chief minister Harsh Sanghavi also mentioned cricket as one of the sports being considered for Amdavad 2030.
