Deutsche Bank has committed 85 million Australian dollars as an Original Lender in the financing of Quinbrook’s Supernode Stage 3 Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Queensland, Australia, further supporting the development of one of the country's largest battery storage precincts.

Deutsche Bank's commitment forms part of the project's 469 million Australian dollar senior secured, non-recourse financing package, supporting the construction and operation of the asset. The project will play an important role in strengthening grid stability and supporting Queensland's transition away from emissions-intensive sources of power.

Deutsche Bank has broad experience supporting energy, infrastructure and renewable energy clients across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. The bank continues to support projects that enhance energy security, strengthen network reliability and contribute to Australia's energy transition.

Established in 2015, Quinbrook is a specialist investment manager focused on the development, financing, construction and operation of infrastructure assets that support the global energy transition. Quinbrook has built or acquired more than 40GW of capacity across a broad portfolio of renewable energy generation, battery storage and flexible power infrastructure assets.

The Supernode Stage 3 BESS forms part of Quinbrook’s flagship Supernode battery storage precinct, which, upon completion of the first three stages, will have a combined nameplate capacity of 780MW

3,074MWh and sufficient stored energy to meet the needs of approximately 188,000 typical Queensland households.
