A star-studded women’s sprint lineup awaits on 23 August for the penultimate stage before the Diamond League Final in Brussels.
Julien Alfred and Melissa Jefferson-Wooden will go head-to-head at the 2026 Diamond League stop in Silesia, Poland, while Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson-Herah will also make a rare appearance.
A star-studded women’s 100m sprint lineup awaits on 23 August for the penultimate stage before the Diamond League Final in Brussels. Among them, the respective Olympic women’s 100m champion and reigning world champion.
Alfred has won the last two 200m competition races as well as one 100m event in Oslo, while Jefferson-Wooden has twice set a season best on her way to claiming 100m titles in Stockholm and Eugene.
Jefferson-Wooden trails Patrizia Van der Weken by four points in the Diamond League standings, which determine qualifiers for September’s Final. The five-time world champion is the only woman to win multiple 100m races in this season’s Diamond League.
Her U.S. compatriot, two-time world champion Sha’Carri Richardson , will add fuel to the fire at the Silesian Stadium.
Jamaican duo Shericka Jackson and Thompson-Herah will also do battle on the Polish track, as the Olympic gold medallists add glitter to the stacked field.
Jackson will race in her second Diamond League 100m of the season after a sixth-place finish at the Prefontaine Classic, while Thompson-Herah hasn’t competed on the Diamond League since 2024.
The Silesia Diamond League stop takes place across 22-23 August, with the women’s 100m final on the second day of competition. The Diamond League Final concludes the annual circuit on 4-6 September.
