Venus and Serena Williams were recently announced as participants for women’s doubles in the 2026 Cincinnati Open, the last USTA event before the Open.

Venus Williams is returning to the US Open 2026 .

Event organizers announced that the four-time Olympic gold medalist and seven-time major singles champion had joined the mixed doubles field, along with partner Alexander Bublik , yesterday (3 August).

The prize for winning? A cool USD$1 million for the victorious duo. The substantially increased prize money has been a major draw to reel in some of the sport’s top players.

After the success of last year’s Fan Week - the lead-up preceding the Grand Slam - mixed doubles will once again serve as the headliner.

Last year, 78,000 spectators filled Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City over the two days the semi-finals and finals were played.

The six pairs with the best combined singles rankings receive automatic entry for the main draw.

After that, the United States Tennis Association gives out wild cards to eight teams. The final two teams will come out of the new qualifying tournament on 24 August.

Williams will tune up for her mixed doubles match by playing with her sister, and fellow Olympic gold medalist, Serena Williams in women’s doubles at the 2026 Cincinnati Open.
