The course is affiliated to the following study programme

Mandatory course in the One-year French Programme (full-time and part-time).

Mandatory course in the 60 ECTS part of the Bachelor’s Programme in Languages for students with French as one of their chosen languages.

One-year French Programme: 2. semester (spring).

One-year French Programme: 4. semester (spring).

Bachelor’s Programme in Languages with French as one of their chosen languages: 2. or 4. semester (spring).

The student’s learning outcomes on passing the course

has knowledge of selected literary texts in French and of their literary devices, as well as of the relevant literary-historical and social context

is familiar with and has knowledge of various genres and their characteristics

has knowledge of French literary theory and analysis

can read French texts in various genres and employ different interpretation and reading strategies

can produce various types of texts in French

can use analytical tools on literary texts and place texts in a literary-historical context

can use reference works and sources in an independent and reflective manner, and find relevant material in various media and through the use of ICT

can use current digital tools in working with textual expressions

Coursework requirements - conditions for taking the exam

One individual written submission (approximately 800 words).

The required coursework is assessed as approved

not approved. Required coursework must be approved before the student can sit for the exam.

Individual written digital home examination.

Duration: 4 hours. All aids are allowed, except communication and collaboration with others on the answers. The examination assignment may further regulate the use of certain aids, for example the use of GenAI. Grading scale: A-F.
