Athena Calderone believes the most inspiring spaces are those that tell a story. At her home in Amagansett, a cozy hamlet in East Hampton, New York, contemporary art, carefully collected objects, and materials bearing the patina of time come together to create an environment that feels both deeply personal and effortlessly welcoming. ‘I love a home that feels collected,’ she says in the film. ‘You can feel the soul.’

For Calderone, the Hamptons is inseparable from its artistic legacy. Just down the road from her home is the house and barn where Jackson Pollock worked – a presence she describes as immediate. That same creative inheritance runs through the Parrish Art Museum and the seasonal fairs that animate the local area each summer. ‘To be able to feel the art in this community,’ she says, ‘is just something so special.’ For Calderone, living within that tradition is not incidental to her work, it is part of it. ‘My home is my workshop,’ she says. ‘I take inspiration from the home itself, but also the surrounding nature, and the people that inhabit this community.’
