The four-time WNBA All-Star is also second in the league for most points per game, just behind A’ja Wilson.

Kelsey Mitchell has made WNBA history after another 20-point game for the Indiana Fever.

The U.S. basketball guard recorded a game-high 27 points in the Fever’s 90-86 win against the Chicago Sky on Saturday (8 August), alongside five rebounds and two assists.

It marks the 16th consecutive game in which she has scored 20 points or more, with Mitchell’s run now the longest scoring streak in a single WNBA season.

The four-time WNBA All-Star is also second in the league for most points per game (24.2), just behind three-time WNBA champion A’ja Wilson (26.3) and ahead of Fever teammate Caitlin Clark (21.6).

“We take our bond [seriously],” Mitchell told ESPN after their victory on the road. “Me and [Clark] like to think our backcourt comes from love, and I want her to be great and vice versa. So a lot of it is just love and energy.”

Clark and Mitchell have combined for 516 points over the past 10 games, the most prolific run of form for two teammates in the league’s history.

Mitchell is also second for most points this season (775) and most three-pointers converted (93) in her ninth season playing in Indiana.

The Indiana Fever are fourth in the WNBA standings with a 20-12 record, chasing a first championship since 2012.
