Thórdarson sidelined by injury requiring surgery
FC St. Pauli will be without Gísli Thórdarson for the time being after the Iceland international sustained a serious thigh injury during the final training session before the home game against Fürth.
After extensive examinations, a decision was taken in consultation with the player and his parent club in Poland to treat the injury surgically. The operation will take place on Wednesday, after which the 21-year-old midfielder will begin his rehab in Hamburg.
The club would like to wish Gísli a speedy recovery and an early return to action.
