Climeworks launches compliance-ready CO2 removal services

11.08.2026, 11:48 Uhr Opfikon - Climeworks Solutions is expanding its service offering to include compliance expertise for the creation of permanent carbon removal portfolios. In so doing, Climeworks will be in a position to help companies understand which measures are aligned with their specific regulatory environments.

( CONNECT ) Climeworks Solutions is now also offering compliance expertise for CO2 removal measures. According to a statement , this additional support is designed to help companies with their efforts to establish their own portfolios that align with their respective regulatory requirements and legal systems.

According to the information, the new compliance expertise is being offered in the context of policymakers increasingly recognizing the importance of CO2 removal for achieving climate goals. As an example, Climeworks Solutions points to the proposal of the European Commission formulated in July 2026 which sought to integrate permanent CO2 removal into the EU Emissions Trading System. The company also highlights the ongoing implementation of the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation ( CORSIA ) by the International Civil Aviation Organization as well as the increasing use of mechanisms under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement .

“Organizations are increasingly asking us how to navigate a rapidly evolving policy landscape and which carbon removals fit specific compliance requirements”, comments Adrian Siegrist, Chief Commercial Officer at Climeworks, in the statement. “This offering builds on our existing portfolio expertise by combining carbon removal sourcing with policy and market knowledge”.

Climeworks Solutions was founded in 2024 as part of Climeworks AG . The provider of permanent carbon removal portfolios, which is based in Opfikon in the canton of Zurich, also operates the DAC Innovation Center in Zurich-Seebach. This is reportedly the largest facility of its kind for the advancement of CO2 filter technology. In collaboration with its customers, Climeworks Solutions develops tailored, diversified portfolios that encompass nature-based, hybrid and technological carbon removal methods, enabling organizations to reduce residual emissions through science-based solutions. ce
