VisionOne™ demonstrates clinical-grade performance compared to perimetry gold-standard in new landmark study with University Hospital Bern

The study evaluated 73 patients (120 eyes) with mild, moderate, and severe glaucoma, each completing both examinations during the same visit. Researchers compared global indices (mean sensitivity and mean defect), pointwise sensitivity, total deviation, test duration, reliability metrics, and patient comfort.

Excellent agreement between VisionOne™ and the Octopus 900 across all stages of glaucoma.

Excellent correlation for the global indices mean sensitivity and mean defect (ρ = 0.97, p < 0.0001).

Strong spatial correlation for pointwise sensitivity and total deviation (ρ = 0.88–0.89).

Agreement remained consistently high even in advanced glaucoma, a patient population that has been largely underrepresented in previous VR perimeter studies.

Comparable examination times (6.3 vs. 6.5 minutes).

No patient discontinuing the examination.

Clinical significance: addressing the limitation of VR perimetry

This independent validation from University Hospital Bern represents a major milestone for PeriVision and VisionOne™.
