2026 European Athletics Championships: Men’s pole vault - Schedule and how to watch Mondo Duplantis live
Mondo Duplantis takes centre stage on Sunday (16 August) in Birmingham 2026.
Armand “Mondo” Duplantis has secured 15 world records, three European titles, and two Olympic golds since announcing himself to the world stage as an 18-year-old at the European Athletics Championships in Berlin 2018.
In the Birmingham 2026 edition of that same event, he will look for his fourth consecutive European title.
After a busy year off the track, Duplantis has balanced marriage and a move to Monaco amid competitions , though not quite to his usual levels.
The Swede suffered his first defeat in three years at the Stockholm Diamond League, before pulling out midway through competition in London.
In Birmingham, his biggest challenger could once again be Emmanouil Karalis , the Greek who took silver behind Duplantis in the European Championships last time out in Rome.
Karalis has enjoyed a strong season, soaring over 6.17m indoors at the Greek Championships to set a new national record.
Norway’s Sondre Guttormsen could also disrupt Duplantis’ dominance. The 2023 European indoor champion cleared 6.00m outdoors for the first time at the Norwegian Championships in Trondheim in July.
