India squad for Women’s Asia Cup 2026: Harmanpreet Kaur captain; Jemimah Rodrigues out with injury

Seven-time champions India have named a 15-member squad for the continental tournament in Dubai.

Harmanpreet Kaur will lead a 15-member Indian cricket team at the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 , scheduled to be held at the Dubai International Stadium from August 28 to September 13.

Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma are among the leading batters named in the squad, alongside Bharti Fulmali and Pratika Rawal.

Jemimah Rodrigues has been ruled out after sustaining a high-grade hamstring tear during the ongoing The Hundred tournament .

Wicketkeepers Richa Ghosh and Gunalan Kamalini have also been selected, while experienced all-rounder Deepti Sharma provides another established presence in the Indian lineup.

India’s bowling options include Renuka Thakur , Arundhati Reddy, Kranti Gaud and Nandani Sharma. Radha Yadav, Sree Charani and Prema Rawat are also part of the squad.

India, the most successful team in Women’s Asia Cup history with seven titles, have been drawn in Group A alongside Pakistan, Thailand and Hong Kong China.

Harmanpreet and Co. will open their campaign against Thailand on August 30 before taking on Hong Kong China on September 3.

The much-awaited India vs Pakistan match will be played on September 5.

Group B consists of defending champions Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, hosts UAE and tournament debutants Indonesia.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled for September 10 and 11. The Women’s Asia Cup 2026 final will be played on September 13.

India will be looking to regain the continental crown after finishing runners-up at the previous edition in 2024. They had reached the final in Dambulla before losing to Sri Lanka by eight wickets.

India have dominated the competition historically, winning the first four editions in the ODI format before adding three T20 titles in 2012, 2016 and 2022.
