Australian Harris was trailing Walsh of Team USA on the second and final lap, but finished off in style, sealing victory in a thrilling race.
Australia’s two-time Olympic champion Meg Harris beat local hope Gretchen Walsh in a close contest, winning the women’s 100m freestyle final at the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships 2026 on Thursday (13 August).
Harris won the race in 52.60 seconds, finishing 0.18s ahead of Walsh, who came second, while Olivia Wunsch was third with a time of 52.98.
