Dübendorf - The Swiss aerospace sector will take center stage for the Days of Technology 2026. On September 22 and 24, two events in Lausanne and Dübendorf will offer insights into the Swiss aerospace landscape. The topics covered will range from historical developments to current perspectives.

( CONNECT ) The Days of Technology 2026 will seek to offer an in-depth overview of Swiss aerospace activities. Two events are set to take place on September 22 in Lausanne and September 24 in Dübendorf to shed light on the history of the Swiss aerospace sector and the technological and economic perspectives, as detailed in a statement . The Days of Technology are organized on an annual basis by Swiss Engineering , the professional association of engineers and architects, together with the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences ( SATW ), the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology ( Empa ), the association of the Swiss tech industry ( Swissmem ) and the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology ( CSEM ).

On September 22, the diversity of the Swiss space sector will be the focus of attention at the Palais de Rumine in Lausanne. Grégoire Bourban from Space Exchange Switzerland will provide an overview of the Swiss aerospace landscape, while Dr. Eleonore Cassandra Poli from CSEM will demonstrate applications areas on Earth for sophisticated aerospace technologies. Loé Maire from the University of Zurich will explain the importance of remote sensing for the environment, the climate and disaster management, with Muriel Richard from the start-up ClearSpace set to present the first mission of the European Space Agency (ESA) focused on the proactive removal of space debris. The event will conclude with Didier Manzoni, President of Swissmem’s Swiss Space Industries Group , who will offer an overview of the strategic importance of the Swiss aerospace industry.

On September 24 in Dübendorf in the canton of Zurich, the focus will be on Switzerland’s position in the international aerospace market. David Blum from the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation ( SERI ) will highlight the strategic importance of the aerospace sector for Switzerland. Prof. Dr. Antonia Neels from Empa will highlight innovative materials capable of withstanding extreme conditions of space, while Carmen Meiller from the University of Zurich will offer an insight into the role of Swiss research in Earth observation. Benjamin Gresse from Thales Alenia Space Switzerland will present high-precision Swiss space technologies. Finally, Dr. Philipp Oettershagen from Beyond Gravity will outline the trends shaping the international New Space market and the significance of these developments for Europe and Switzerland. ce
