Sarpsborg Stadion Braces for Season's Biggest Home Run

Sarpsborg 08 FF return to Sarpsborg Stadion on Sunday to host Sandefjord in Eliteserien Round 18, kicking off at 15:00. It is the club's first home match since July, and the start of three home fixtures in as many weeks. A girls' football festival on 23 August adds further buzz to the stadium calendar.

A Long-Awaited Return to Sarpsborg Stadion

After a lengthy spell away from home, Sarpsborg 08 FF are finally set to welcome fans back through the gates of Sarpsborg Stadion this Sunday, 16 August 2026. The club hosts Sandefjord Fotball in Round 18 of the Eliteserien, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00.

It marks the team's first home outing since July, making it one of only two home fixtures across an extended six-week stretch — and easily the most anticipated home occasion at the stadium in recent weeks.

Defeat at Viking Sets the Scene

Sarpsborg 08 head into the match on the back of a 2–1 away defeat at table-topping Viking FK at Lyse Arena on 8 August. Prior to that, the side drew 3–3 at Molde on 2 August — a run of away fixtures that has left supporters eager to see their team back on home turf.

Despite the recent results on the road, the club sits in the upper half of the Eliteserien standings with 22 points from 16 games — level with Brann and HamKam. A home win against bottom-half Sandefjord, who sit 13th, would be a significant boost heading into the rest of the season.

Girls' Football Festival on 23 August

In partnership with Allidrettsdagen and Sarpsborg Idrettsråd, Sarpsborg 08 will host a girls' football festival at the stadium on Sunday, 23 August — adding a celebratory community flavour to what is shaping up to be the busiest and most exciting fortnight of the year at Sarpsborg Stadion.
