The Natural History Museum of Bern unveils its new-look mascot for children and families: PICA the magpie has been spruced up and is now guiding young visitors through the museum in a fresh design and with an expanded program.

PICA is set to be a bigger presence in the day-to-day life of the museum, eagerly highlighting the exciting program of activities for children and families. Two PICA trails are now available at the museum reception. The “Museum Highlights” trail links together the most famous exhibits and is suitable for families who are not yet familiar with the museum. Meanwhile the “Activity Trail” focuses on locations throughout the museum where visitors can get hands-on.

The museum is also launching an audio story for children. In “PICA Falls from the Nest”, PICA tells the fantastical tale of how she found her way to the Natural History Museum of Bern. The audio story is available free of charge online (in German or French)
