Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft publishes 2025 Sustainability Statement in Germany; Some disclosures audited under HGB

This sustainability statement by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft covers the 2025 financial year and reflects significant developments since the publication of its most recent CSR report in 2023. It was prepared with reference to the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) in the version currently in effect but does not claim full compliance with the ESRS. The sustainability statement as a whole was not subject to a separate assurance engagement. Certain sustainability disclosures included in the management report underwent a statutory audit under section 317 of the German Commercial Code (Handelsgesetzbuch, HGB) and were audited with reasonable assurance. These disclosures are highlighted accordingly in the report.

The report provides a transparent overview of key social, environmental and governance issues associated with the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft’s value chain and impact. It is intended for internal and external stakeholders and serves as a tool for managing, developing and continuously improving sustainability management within the organization. Fraunhofer continually works to enhance its underlying data, processes and systems in line with external requirements while gradually making its reporting more transparent and comparable.

Since 2014, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft has regularly reported on the environmental and social impacts of its work, along with the associated opportunities and risks, in its sustainability and CSR reporting, whether in stand-alone CSR reports or as part of its annual management report.
