RISA, a French machine manufacturer for electricity and communication networks, chooses its partners carefully. YORK by MOTOREX has been supporting the company in all matters relating to lubrication since 2024. What sets this partnership apart? When proximity makes all the difference

RISA and YORK meet at a trade fair in 2024. Frédéric Chatelard, Key Account Manager at YORK, immediately recognises the potential of a tailor-made partnership. A spark ignites, talks intensify and RISA decides to replace an oil giant with YORK.

The search for a supplier who is flexible, available and understands local conditions is a success. YORK, a medium-sized French lubricant manufacturer, is able to respond very quickly and adapt to specific needs. YORK also draws on the expertise of the MOTOREX Group, which is internationally recognised for the quality of its formulations and its continuous innovation.

Lubrication as a performance enhancer

The machines at RISA work under extreme conditions: high temperatures, uneven terrain, humidity, dust. Every component is subjected to rigorous testing. This makes the lubricant a strategic element when it comes to reliability and performance. "Our machines are designed to last, but perfect lubrication is required to ensure continued performance," explains Martial Pautrat. "What we value most about YORK is the technical exchange as well as their ability to respond quickly and support us even in complex cases."

Services with high added value

Rather than working in silos, the collaboration between YORK and RISA is based on regular communication between commercial, technical and operational departments. At RISA, each department has dedicated YORK contracts. The oil analyses offered by YORK are particularly appreciated. They are both fast and reliable, making it possible to better anticipate problems, optimise maintenance and lengthen the intervals between oil changes. In terms of machinery, there are significant benefits, including the use of biodegradable oils with longer lifespans.

Biodegradable oils - a key area of development for RISA

RISA machines are often found out in the open on construction sites. If a lubricant accidentally leaks, it can have a significant impact on the environment. Just one litre of mineral oil can pollute up to one million litres of water. RISA has therefore started to gradually transition to biodegradable oils according to OECD 301 B - an area with which YORK is very familiar. Prime examples are the hydraulic oils YORK 979 B VG 46 and YORK 777 B VG 46. These biodegradable oils have a particularly long service life in hydraulic systems and make it possible to considerably lengthen the intervals between oil changes. As a part of the current transition, high-performance biodegradable oils will soon be used in just under half of RISA's machinery. This will help RISA to reduce maintenance costs, minimise its environmental footprint and lengthen the intervals between oil changes.

Strong partnership for ambitious goals

RISA has set itself ambitious goals for the coming years: to consolidate its leading position in France, expand its export business and continue with product innovations in close collaboration with its partners.
