The five-time Olympic medallist returns to the track for the first time in more than a month, chasing more 200m Diamond League glory in the “Olympic capital”.

Can anyone beat Jamaican track and field superstar Shericka Jackson ?

That’s the question on every athletics fan and pundit’s mind heading into the Lausanne Diamond League 2026 , where the 31-year-old will chase her third 200 metres victory of the season.

Unbeaten over the distance this year, Jackson enters the meet with a season’s best of 21.87 seconds from the Xiamen Diamond League stop in May, along with the 10.87 she clocked in the 100m at the Jamaican Athletics Championships.

While she’s raced sparingly this season, gradually building her race calendar following a series of injuries during the 2024 and 2025 seasons, she’s shown consistent speed across track and field’s two shortest – and fastest – distances.

In fact, the only blemish on her impeccable record this season came at the Eugene Diamond League, where she finished sixth in the women’s 100m behind reigning world champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden in 11.02.

In Lausanne, she’ll go head-to-head with newly crowned four-time European champion Amy Hunt of Great Britain, who’s season’s best lies at 22.19. Of course, that’s not her only competition.

She’ll also need to keep an eye on the United States’ Kayla White , who has the second-best season’s best at 21.91, and perennial African favourite Favour Ofili , who enters the race at 22.15.

U.S. sprinters Anavia Battle and Brittany Brown and Swiss hopes Fabienne Hoenke and Léonie Pointet make up the rest of the start list.
