ai-omatic is a Hamburg-based deeptech startup With our cloud-based predictive maintenance software, we help industrial companies identify unusual machine behaviour before it leads to costly problems. Our Digital Maintenance Assistant analyses and visualises machine sensor data, enabling companies to prevent unplanned downtime, reduce maintenance efforts and increase plant availability. Thanks to our scalable algorithm, the solution can be used across a wide range of machines, applications and industries. As a Technical Project Engineer, you combine technical understanding with project management and customer communication. Your focus will be on successfully implementing our AI software for customers, clarifying technical questions, and managing the operational execution of projects. Together with Account Management, you will ensure that a successful implementation turns into long-term customer success.

Start: As soon as possible

You must live within commuting distance of Hamburg, as one weekly on-site day is part of the role.

Technical project implementation: You implement our Digital Maintenance Assistant for a variety of customer machines and familiarize yourself with existing machine and process structures.

Goal ownership: Together with Account Management, you define clear project goals and ensure they are achieved within the agreed timeframe.

First point of contact for customers: You guide customers throughout the project, translate technical requirements into concrete next steps, and ensure a professional customer experience.

Technical support: You analyze machine faults together with customers, support them with technical questions, and contribute to optimizing their first projects.

Project overview & progress management: You manage timelines, milestones, and dependencies, and coordinate pragmatic solutions with internal teams when risks arise.

Interim updates & results presentations: Together with Account Management, you prepare status updates, reviews, and results presentations and present them confidently to customers.

Internal collaboration: You support Account Management and Product Management with valuable insights from customer projects and practical product usage.

These qualities will help you succeed:

Degree in engineering or a relevant technical field

Up to 2 years of experience in technical customer support or project management

Empathetic and persuasive communication with customers and internal stakeholders — by phone, in writing, and on site

Structured, pragmatic, and results-oriented way of working, with the ability to set the right priorities across a variety of projects and topics

Creativity and curiosity for AI and vibe-coding solutions

Native-level German and at least C1-level English to communicate confidently with customers and internal stakeholders

Nice to have: basic understanding of Linux, data analysis, automation, APIs, or industrial communication protocols
