The iconic stadium, which was used for the ceremonies and football finals at Rio 2016, will host the 2027 Women’s World Cup final.

The match schedule for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 has been announced.

Taking place from 24 June to 25 July 2027, this will be the first time that the women’s football tournament will be held in South America.

Host nation Brazil will open the action at the iconic Estádio do Maracanã on 24 June 2027, playing their remaining Group A matches in São Paulo and Brasília.

The Maracanã, which hosted the Opening and Closing Ceremonies as well as the football finals at Rio 2016 , will host the Women’s World Cup final on 25 July 2027.

Matches will be hosted across eight Brazilian cities: Brasília, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

This will be the first women’s World Cup to feature 32 teams, returning to the familiar format from the men’s equivalent between 1998 and 2002.
