Diamond League Silesia 2026: Alison Dos Santos claims another win over Karsten Warholm, Marileidy Paulino seals women’s 400m

The Brazilian Olympic medallist raced to a world lead of 46.43 seconds in the men’s 400m hurdles, while Marileidy Paulino maintained her perfect record on Sunday, 23 August.

Olympic silver medallist Alison Dos Santos held off Kartsen Warholm to clinch his fifth 400m hurdles win of the 2026 Diamond League Series on Sunday (23 August).

His world-leading time of 46.43 at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial in Silesia, Poland, made it three wins for the Brazilian over the Norwegian Olympic champion this season, following previous victories in Xiamen and Oslo. Dos Santos also topped the 300m hurdles in Shanghai

Warholm, the world record holder over the distance, raced to a season best of 46.52, with another Brazilian, Matheus Lima, clocking a personal record of 47.26 for third.

Paulino notches her fifth 2026 Diamond League win, Kebintatship tops women’s 400m

There was no stopping Marileidy Paulino in the women’s 400m as the Dominican Republic ace maintained her perfect record for the season.

She produced a powerful finish off the final bend to clock 48.87 seconds , securing her fifth win of the campaign.

Jamaica’s Nickisha Pryce finished second in a season’s best 49.49 , while Salwa Eid Naser also posted her fastest time of the year, crossing the line in 49.57 for third place.

The men’s 400m was all about Botswana’s world champion Busang Collen Kebinatshipi , who produced another stunning performance to win the men’s one lap race in 43.59, a meeting record.

The 22-year-old, who has already qualified for next month’s Diamond League final where he will be chasing his first series title, held off the reigning Olympic 400m hurdles champion Rai Benjamin, who clocked 43.83 for second, as South Africa’s Zakithi Nene held on for third in 44.37 seconds.
