Stam & Schoon, Boermans & Brouwer triumph as Dutch champions; Italy, Poland, Russia, Ukraine hold tour stops – FIVB

Vasto hosted a stop on the Absolute Italian Beach Volleyball Championship tour last week. In the women’s final showdown, top-seeded Chiara They & Sara Breidenbach squeezed out a hard-fought 2-1 (24-22, 21-23, 15-10) victory over Anna Pelloia & Maria Rachele Mancinelli, who brought home silver. The bronze went to third-seeded Alice Gradini & Federica Frasca, who claimed a 2-0 (21-17, 21-15) win over Cindy Lee Fezzi & Jessica Bellero Piccinin in the third-place match.

Second-seeded Tobia Marchetto & Michael Burgmann conquered the men’s trophy in Vasto. They managed a 2-1 (21-16, 12-21, 15-10) victory over third-seeded Tiziano Andreatta & Raoul Acerbi in the final. Marco Viscovich & Davide Borraccino celebrated the bronze after a 2-0 (21-19, 21-9) sweep of the third-place game against Mauro Sacripanti & Giacomo Titta.

BeachvolleybalNL﻿) . Top-caliber international stars Raisa Schoon & Katja Stam earned the women’s title. In the championship final, the bracket leaders mastered an emphatic 2-0 (21-16, 21-14) shutout of Tess Spaansen & Trijntje Veerbeek. Mila Konink & Noa Sonneville completed the podium, snatching the bronze medals in a 2-0 (21-19, 21-19) third-place playoff victory over Jill de Groot & Leanne van Vegten.

Another stellar duo, Stefan Boermans & Alexander Brouwer, triumphed on top of the men’s podium. The top seeds hammered out a 2-0 (21-14, 21-11) sweep of the gold medal match against second-seeded Matthew Immers & Leon Luini. In the bronze medal match, third-seeded Sam van der Loo & Mees Sengers outlasted Quin Bruins Slot & Bram Zijl by a tight 2-0 (21-16, 25-23).

A men’s event on Poland’s Orlen Beach Volley Tour took place in Torun. Top-seeded Michal Korycki & Milosz Kruk lived up to their ranking and won the tournament. They beat Tomasz Jaroszczak & Mateusz Florczyk by 2-0 (21-19, 21-16) in the final. Marek Subocz & Michal Witkos finished in third place. They won the bronze medal match against Adam Sobstyl & Mateusz Bidzinski by 2-0 (27-25, 21-15).

The Russia Championship Tour continued in Obninsk last week. Top-seeded Mariia Bocharova & Maria Voronina brought home another gold. In the final against Ekaterina Shevtsova & Kristina Shchegoleva, they put together a 2-1 (21-16, 19-21, 15-10) win. The bronze went to Arina Riazhnova & Elizaveta Ludkova, who took a 2-0 (21-13, 21-13) victory over Veronika Plotnikova & Elizaveta Gubina in the third-place game.

The men’s gold went to second-seeded Oleg Stoyanovskiy & Ilya Leshukov. They delivered a 2-0 (23-21, 21-12) sweep of the final against Vladislav Panchenko & Aleksei Arkhipov. Bracket leaders Alexey Gusev & Nikita Liamin settled for bronze. They defeated Viacheslav Krasilnikov & Vladislav Reinson by 2-0 (21-19, 21-15) for the third place.

Top-seeded Diana Avramenko & Iryna Nikitchuk celebrated a 2-1 (24-26, 21-17, 15-9) comeback victory over second-seeded Kateryna Nitsenko & Viktoriia Kachyoni in the women’s final of the Kropyvnytskyi stop on the Ukrainian National Championship Tour. Third-seeded Diana Lunina & Mariia Haevska earned the bronze with a 2-0 (21-11, 21-15) sweep of the third-place match against Kateryna Zaviriukha & Oleksandra Nalimova.

The top two seeds in the men’s main draw also met in the gold medal showdown. Bracket leaders Yehor Skrypnychenko & Andrii Lunkan beat Andrii Merkulov & Andrii Shulhin by 2-0 (21-9, 21-19) to top the podium. Kyrylo Ishchenko & Pavlo Yatseniuk grabbed the bronze after a 2-1 (12-21, 21-15, 15-9) turnaround against Dmytro Holovanov & Evgeniy Apostolov in the third-place playoff.
