Mittweida University of Applied Sciences offers Maker Science bachelor’s program in Mittweida; Germany’s only public university with English-language math degree

Mittweida University of Applied Sciences offers degree programs in engineering, media studies, business, and social sciences, as well as computer science, some of which are available as distance learning programs. These programs lead to bachelor’s, master’s, and diploma degrees. Mittweida University of Applied Sciences is the only public university in Germany to offer an English-language bachelor’s degree program in mathematics. Since 2026, Mittweida University of Applied Sciences has offered the Bachelor’s program in Maker Science, which is designed to teach prototyping, development, and spin-off companies in the spirit of maker culture. The program also makes use of the facilities at the university’s own makerspace, the HSMW-MakerLab.
