BUFF launches socks featuring HeiQ technology

( CONNECT ) BUFF is using two textile finishing technologies from HeiQ , based in the canton of Zurich, in the manufacture of its new CoolNet socks , as has been announced . The specialist in safety and outdoor apparel, based in the Catalan textile region around the city of Igualada with branches in Germany, Canada, the UK and the USA, has recently added this model to its collection of outdoor socks.

HeiQ Smart Temp provides intelligent temperature regulation. It enables fabrics to dynamically respond to changes in body heat and moisture. At the core of HeiQ Smart Temp are hydro-functional polymers developed by HeiQ. These polymers reversibly change their behavior depending on temperature and moisture, allowing the fabric to react when needed and remain neutral otherwise.

HeiQ Mint is a deodorizing technology made from over 70 percent plant-based materials. It keeps textiles fresh longer by attracting, capturing and absorbing volatile odor particles. This means they need to be washed less frequently. In addition, this bio-based odor neutralizer offers extensive wash durability and is compatible with all major fiber types. Both technologies are suitable for use in ecologically certified textiles.

HeiQ was founded in 2005 as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich . The deep-tech company specializing in material innovations is headquartered at the IJZ Innovation and Young Entrepreneur Center in Schlieren and is a member of Start Smart Schlieren . ce
