BCL Europe Final Four: Parma reach Italian Series; Neptunus and Draci still in semifinals
With one month to go to the Baseball Champions League Europe Final Four in Brno, Czechia - taking place on 26 and 27 September ( tickets available here ) - three of the four finalists are still in the midst of their domestic league playoffs.
1949 Parma Baseball Club are just four wins away from winning the scudetto in the Italian Serie A Gold. They won the best-of- seven semifinal series against Hotsand Macerata 4-2 to reach the Italian Series, where they will face San Marino Baseball, who edged Unipol Bologna 4-3 in a tight semifinal. The best-of-seven Italian Series will start on Thursday, 27 August.

Meanwhile, Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam still need to find one more win in their semifinal against Kinheim to reach the Holland Series in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. After Kinheim won Game One of the semifinals 7-2, Curacao Neptunus prevailed 2-1 and 5-0 in Games Two and Three of the best-of-five series. In the other series the Amsterdam Pirates are leading the Oosterhout Twins 2-1.
BCL Europe Final Four hosts Draci Brno is in an uphill battle against local rival Cardion Hrosi Brno. In the best-of-five semifinal series Hrosi is leading 2-1 after winning Games Two and Three 12-5 and 3-1. Draci had won Game One 5-3. The opponent in the Czech Final Series is already known. Kotlarka Prague swept city rival Eagles Prague 3-0.

The fourth Final Four participant Tenerife Marlins is currently in a preparation phase ahead of the Copa del Rey, which will be played in September. The Marlins had clinched the Spanish Division de Honor title in July, their 16th Spanish Baseball Championship.
At the Baseball Champions League Europe Final Four in Brno, 1949 Parma will face the Tenerife Marlins in the first semifinal at 12:00 local time on Saturday, 26 September. At 19:00, Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam will take on hosts Draci Brno.
The Bronze Medal Game and Championship Final will follow on Sunday, 27 September. Tickets are available online through this link .
The first edition of the BCL Europe follows the launch of the BCL in 2023 as a “new concept for baseball, it’s an international tournament of champions with teams around the world representing their club, their city and their fans on the world stage,” said President Fraccari.
The first BCL Americas - which took place in September, 2023 and was won by the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (USA) - served as a model for what the WBSC planned for other continents and leagues in the future as part of a global Baseball Champions League.
There was a six-team BCL Americas edition in 2025 , won by Diablos Rojos (MEX) while in March this year, the Mexican Baseball League and the Diablos Rojos hosted a five-team Baseball Champions League at the Alfredo Harp Helù Stadium in Mexico City, which featured four teams from the Americas and CTBC Brothers from Taiwan, and was won by Kane County Cougars (USA).
