Media Impact to be integrated into the BILD Group
PREMIUM-GRUPPE consolidates sales for luxury and events
Axel Springer is realigning the advertising sales operation for its German media brands. The goal is to offer advertising partners solutions that are faster, more targeted and more closely tailored to their needs.
Advertising sales will be organized in two clear structures going forward: Media Impact, the company’s advertising sales arm, will be fully integrated into the BILD Group by the end of this year. In parallel, the PREMIUM-GRUPPE, which comprises WELT, POLITICO Germany, BUSINESS INSIDER Germany, and ICON, will consolidate advertising sales in the luxury and events segments.
The BILD Group takes on the broad-reach business. The integration of Media Impact brings brands, products and advertising sales into closer alignment. Excluded are the luxury and events segments, which fall under the responsibility of the PREMIUM-GRUPPE. The PREMIUM-GRUPPE’s reach-based advertising sales will remain closely aligned with the BILD Group’s sales organization. Advertisers will therefore continue to have access to cross-brand offerings and the combined reach of the Axel Springer portfolio.
Benedikt Faerber , previously Managing Director of Media Impact, moves to the BILD Group as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). He will continue to be responsible for advertising sales activities and remainsthe central point of contact for clients and agencies.
The PREMIUM-GRUPPE will focus on specialized advertising offerings, bringing luxury, live experience and tentpole sales together in a dedicated unit. Advertising partners gain single-point access to the brands’ high-spending audiences, decision-maker networks and premium editorial environments. The PREMIUM-GRUPPE is also responsible for event sales across both groups.
Christoph Eck-Schmidt, CEO of the BILD Group : “The integration of Media Impact opens a new chapter for the BILD Group. Brand, product and advertising sales will work together even more closely as one team. That gives us more speed, more clarity and greater proximity to our clients. Our ambition is clear: we intend to keep moving ahead in the advertising market, develop new solutions faster and actively shape the future of our business.“
Mathias Sanchez, CEO of the PREMIUM-GRUPPE : “With this new setup, we want to build the strongest advertising sales unit for C-level networking in the German market. Our editorial offerings and events combine relevant reach with high-value audiences. This gives our partners strong platforms for positioning, strategic exchange and networking.“
